Moving your business current account has never simpler. The Current Account Switch Service, offered by over 40 UK banks and building societies, is designed to be used by small businesses with an annual turnover and/or balance sheet total does not exceed £6.5 million and employs fewer than 50 people*. And it’s backed by a guarantee, so you can be confident your switch will run smoothly.

You choose the switch date

You can choose any date as long as it's not a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday - just remember to allow seven working days for your account to move from one bank or building society to another.

You’ll have a single point of contact throughout the switch

There's no need for long conversations with both the old and new account provider. The switch is managed entirely by your new bank and your old business account will be closed as part of the service.

Your payments will move automatically

Existing payments, in or out, such as Direct Debits and standing orders will be transferred to your new account automatically. Any transactions that go through your old account will be redirected to your new one for 36 months and cheques will be forwarded automatically.

Payees will be notified 

Whenever an electronic payment is redirected, the organisation behind it will receive an automated message advising them to update their records to your new account details. This applies to customers crediting your account or suppliers and billers collecting by Direct Debit, for example.
